About Annamarie

Annamarie1Annamarie aspires to live in 21st Century North America in  a compassionate, ethical, and grounded way. She has found that secular and non-sectarian Buddhism supports and guides this effort, while challenging her to continuously grow.

Annamarie was first introduced to mindfulness meditation in 2006 as a means to improve stress management skills. After four years of exposure to Buddhist Psychology, Annamarie began exploring other aspects of Buddhism; she took refuge and began a daily meditation practice around this time. She has been exposed to the teachings of the Shambhala, Thervadan, and Zen lineages. Annamarie finds that secular and non-sectarian Buddhism is the most appropriate way to engage the unique culture and challenges of her present reality.

Annamarie has an equally diverse educational background which includes a B.A. Psychology, a B.Sc. Civil Engineering, and a M.Pl. Urban Planning. She has retired from academia and now works for a national consulting firm. Two cats have decided it's acceptable to live with her and her partner.

Annamarie began co-leading the LMC with Ian in 2011. In 2013 she began a 5 year program studying with Poep Sa Frank Jude Boccio to become a recognized Dharma teacher.
