Sunday Meditation/Discussion new time 7:00 – 8:30 pm, starting Oct 22. Tuesday drop-in Meditation Oct 24, 8-830pm.

Venue and time this week:  In sync with Moksha’s change to Fall-Winter hours our Sunday Meditations will now starting at 7 pm, beginning this Sunday October 22, 2017, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm,  facilitated by Daniel & Greg at Moksha Yoga, London Ontario, Canada. Half hour drop-in meditation on Tuesday October 24, 8 – 8:30 pm, facilitated by Daniel.

Schedule:  Sunday’s meditation 7:00 – 7:30 pm will involve techniques to enhance your meditation focus, from counting breaths, to body sensation.  Break for chat and mindful tea 7:30 – 7:45 pm roughly; 7:45 – 8:30 pm: Discussion on the topic Inspiration and Follow-up from the Mindfulness Challenge Last Weekend facilitated by Daniel and Greg. All are welcome to either or both of these events.

This week’s discussion topic is inspired by The 2017 Mindfulness Challenge based in Toronto, which Daniel brought to London as a satellite event, with assistance from LMC facilitator Kristen. Greg attended the central Toronto event.  Over $100,000 was raised to enable access for disadvantaged persons to gain access to professional Mindfulness-based Mental Wellness Therapies and Meditation programs. The event involved a meditation marathon, of 4 hours on Sunday October 15, with several hundred participants, with over 25 people joining us in our London location, where we raised over $5, 700 for mental health!

We discuss some of the leaders of the event, who led a diverse number of meditations, including Dance (Roberta Mohler), Singing and Mindful Eating (Eli Weisembaum), Mindful Exploration Challenge (Jeff Warren), among others who kept us (mainly) focused and having fun for 4 hours! These can inspire activities at LMC, and we are interested in your input :). Some video will be provided about these activities.

Suggested exercise to prepare for the evening.
Find a few favorite songs of yours, start with a guided meditation perhaps like this one (, and then as you transition into listening to the first song, focus on how it makes you feel as you try to stay in a mindful meditative state. Focus your attention on subtle reactions you are having to lyrics, to rhythm and to other aspects of the music. Enjoy this exercise. For extra preparation choose songs you have never listened to and do the same exercise. Observing what aspects of the song you might react to differently and how it varies from songs you have previous positive experiences with.
