Fall/Winter 2013 Book Club

The voting was completed and the next book club will centre on Happiness Is An Inside Job by Sylvia Boorstein.  For those of you who are new, we generally do a bulk order of the books at the Mandala Bookstore. In order to qualify for bulk pricing, we need 10 orders. If enough people want to participate in the book club we will put in the order August 19th. You can help this process along by reminding your fellow sangha members to check in and leave a comment here if they want to participate.

Monday July 29, 2013: Open Discussion – Room for Improvement

This coming Monday, we’ll have an Open Discussion night.
What we’d like is for everyone to come with is one or two areas in life where you’d like to bring more mindfulness/skillfulness. We will share these areas and see what ideas or practices the group can suggest to each of us.

We will use this conversation as a springboard to choose the next book we’ll be reading.

We’ll also discuss any other questions you may want to air with the group.

See you then!

Back to Basics Workshop, Thursdays 7/11-8/29

Friends,

The Interdependence Project is hosting an online workshop called “Back to Basics: The Eightfold Path of Awakening” that takes place from 19:00 – 21:00 on  every Thursday July 11 – August 29. (That’s eight sessions). Annette & Rob have kindly offered us the use of the Shiva Room during this time.
I’m going to participate in this workshop and I’m happy to include any of you who want to join me. The price for participation is $10/week, $80 total. You’ll need to sign up at the IDProject website.
Here is more information regarding the topics that will be covered and how the workshop will play out.
If you choose to participate, and I highly encourage you to do so, you are also welcome to join me for a guided yoga practice beforehand from 18:00 onward.
Here’s the evening as I’m envisioning it.
18:00 – 19:15 Yoga practice
19:15 – 19:30 Break
19:30 – 21:30 Workshop
If you want to participate with me, please RSVP no later than Thursday July, 4 so I can get an idea of the numbers involved.
